What's the best kind of flat iron?

I'm basically stuck between GHD and CHI. I've heard the same reviews from both, but a chi is cheaper. I have a really old flat iron that's just burning my hair and it's just gross. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm also skeptical about switching from a 2 inch to a little 1 inch, but i can't seem to find a 1.5 inch or a 2 inch for either brands. Is it harder to straighten hair with a smaller size? Also does it take longer? Because in the mornings, i don't have much time lol. Sorry for all the questions, i just want to invest my money in a good flat iron! Thanks in advance!
